Science Scribbles is a small independent brand. This page sets out how we handle production, materials and packaging.

Current practice

Production. Designs are made in small runs rather than speculative bulk, which limits overstock and waste.

Manufacturing. We work with two pin manufacturers. YourStuffMade, a certified B Corporation, produce a range of our designs and handle our custom corporate projects and large orders. Made by Cooper produce a large part of our online range and publish a human rights policy covering fair working conditions and supply chain standards.

Print stock. Backing cards, prints and greetings cards are printed on FSC certified paper.

Packaging. Individual orders ship in padded mailers. These are mixed-material and not currently recyclable, and we are reviewing alternatives.

Wholesale orders packed by us, typically for museums and shops, are sent without plastic.

Large corporate orders are the exception. Where pins are held in storage for extended periods, they are individually wrapped to prevent damage in handling and transit. We are happy to discuss alternatives with corporate customers.

Premises. Science Scribbles operates from home. No separate office, warehouse or business vehicles.

We review suppliers and materials as better options become available, and welcome feedback from customers.
